Vickie Reid

Vickie Irene Rintoul Reid went home to Jesus on October 4, 2021 at age 72. Vickie was born to Frederick Merle Rintoul and Vivian Irene Rintoul on 12-23-1948 in Garden City KS. As a child, she was 3rd oldest of four children. She has one brother and two sisters. As a teenager, Vickie work at one of the family businesses, the Creemee Drive-in, with her siblings and parents. After highschool Vickie attended cosmetology school in Wichita KS, and then accepted a position for a job at the CIA. Vickie met her husband, Eugene W. Reid Sr. in 1973 in Warrenton Virginia, married in 1974 for 5 years and had one child, Vivian Suzanne Reid. Shortly after, she returned back to Garden City Kansas and had a son, Matthew Alan Reid. Later she attended Ft. Hays State University where she acquired her Bachelors Degree in Education then went on to teach Special Education until her retirement. After her retirement, she moved to San Antonio TX to be closer to her Grandchildren and to use her skills in their homeschool education. Vickie was a dedicated and loving mother who sacrificed for her children, She attended the First Christian Church of Garden City KS almost her entire life. She also loved to read books and watch Hallmark Movies, she loved Christmas and loved to decorate for Christmas, especially her Christmas Village, some other notable things to mention or favorites would be her love of flowers, specifically Morning Glorys, bird watching, cats, trains, pecan pie, the color yellow, and traveling especially to Colorado. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Vickie is preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Irene Rintoul, and her father, (Frederick) Merle Rintoul. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, (Vivian) Suzanne Reid Goeken and Troy D. Goeken, her son, Matthew Alan Reid, her brother and sisters Merlene Rintoul Wampler, Dwane Rintoul, and Kay Rintoul Oller, and also her grandchildren Crystal L. Reid-Reichmuth, Caleb N. Goeken, Zarek A. Goeken, Ethan R. Goeken, Landon I. Goeken, Makayla F. Goeken, Kylianne M. Goeken, Arianna H. Goeken, and Aidan J. Goeken. "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:1-3
