Joe Wade Vining

Services for Joe Wade Vining, age 86, of Rusk, TX are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Salem, TX with Rev. Tommy Mabry and Rev. Don Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Rusk. Mr. Vining was born September 12, 1928 in Alto, TX to the late Joe Johnson Vining and Gladys Pierce Vining. He died September 8, 2015 following a courageous battle with cancer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Maris Elton Vining, and brothers’-in-law Ralph W. (Dub) Summers, and Leahman Hassell. He loved working at the used car lot, and prepping the cars and cleaning them were his specialty. He enjoyed manicuring his lawn and riding the lawn mower. He also loved visiting with his family, church family, and friends. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nelleva Vining, sons Jerry and his wife Debbie Vining, Deer Park, TX, Terry and his wife Julie Vining, Rusk, TX, daughters Jo Nell and David Strickler, Magnolia, TX, Jenny and Mark Sitterle, Spicewood, TX, grandchildren, Kristy and Steven Simpson, Palmer, Alaska, Julie Michelle and Joey White, North Bend, Oregon, Todd and Shannon Strickler, Houston, TX, Angie and Ryan McBeth, Houston, TX, Amanda and Adam Osbeck, Houston, TX, Amy and Cheyne Cox, Mont Belvieu, TX, Scott and Krista Sitterle, Rockwall, TX, Brandon and April Sitterle, Spring, TX, Trey and Elizabeth Sitterle, Houston, TX, Allen and Kheli Paul, Katy, TX, great-grandchildren Chloe and Logan Simpson, Palmer, Alaska, Carson, Shane, and Jesse White, North Bend, Oregon, Jack and Claire Strickler, Houston, TX, Elle and Quinn McBeth, Houston, TX, Grayson Cox, Mont Belvieu, TX, Reed and Drew Sitterle, Rockwall, TX, Kyle, Austin, Evan and Travis Paul, Katy, TX, Skylar and Logan Sitterle, Spring, TX, sister Lula Beth Summers, Pasadena, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers include Darwin Robinson, Jose Gomez, Charles Goff, Jerry Aiken, and Randy Moon.
