Forrest Hayden Dyess

Forrest Hayden Dyess was born in Jacksonville, Texas on June 20, 1939. He entered into paradise with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2023 with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, Venice Lee Dyess and Zora Lee Simpson Dyess, brothers- Paul Dyess, John David Dyess, sisters- Patsy Jane Martin, Ethel Lee Grimes, Margie Nell Morris. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Reta Kennedy Dyess, son Kenny Dyess and wife Kim of Jacksonville, daughters Cathy Newman and husband Rodney of Rusk, and Terrie Sadler and husband Randy of Gallatin. He was a wonderful granddaddy to his grandchildren, Jody Dyess and wife Bonnie, Jennifer Tyler and husband Kenny, Jordan Dyess, Allison Rawlinson and husband Brayden, Nick Cowan and wife Jeannette, Katy Woods and husband Jared, James Newman and wife Tara, Jacob Newman and wife Heidi, Casey Newman, Amanda Scott and husband Hayden, Meagan Shuptrine and husband Brock, Forrest Jones and wife Megan, Garret Jones, Jory Sadler and wife April, Caleb Sadler and wife Hannah, Nikita Sadler, Raysha Watson and husband Jeremy. Also 35 great grandchildren, Anna, Hayden, Karen, Eli Dyess, Landon and Lilly Tyler, Palmer Dyess, Sunni and Baker Rawlinson, Remi, Zella, and Rossi Cowan, Torsten and Torvi Woods, Grayson, Julianne, Rhett, and Colt Newman, Ty, Tenley, Tripp Newman, Analeigha, Easton, and Dawson Shuptrine, LynnLee, Honey, and River Jones, Hunter, Lindsey, and Cameron Sadler, Macy and Demi Sadler, Aiden and Jaxson Watson. He is also survived by brother-R.S. Dyess, sister and brother-in-law Martha Ann and Joe Parsley, sister-in-law Mary Dyess, and brother-in-law Freddie Morris and numerous nieces and nephews. Forrest grew up in Jacksonville and married his high school sweetheart in 1958 and together they raised their three children, Kenny, Cathy and Terrie in a Christian home teaching them to love and respect each other and God. He was a faithful and loving husband dedicated to serving the Lord as a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He owned and operated a dairy farm for 44 years and now operates a beef cattle ranch and a farm supply store. Forrest loved people and would help anyone with a need. He loved all sports and played softball for many years. Services will be entrusted to Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on August 24, 2023, from 9:00AM to 10:00AM at Eastside Baptist Church. Funeral service will begin immediately following visitation. Burial will be at Providence Cemetery in Dialville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, 400 Academy, Rusk, TX 75785.
