Graveside Services for Mary Franklin, 89, will be 12 noon, Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Atoy Cemetery, Rusk, Texas under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Copeland officiating. Mrs. Franklin was born in Atoy on October 7, 1926 to the late D.M. and Ida Sessions. She retired from AT&T after 37 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Leonard, TX, and was a lifelong Baptist. She adored animals, farm life, and milked cows. She was also known for her strawberry cakes. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Ray Franklin, brothers, Rudolph Sessions, Travis Sessions, sisters, Fatha L. Brogan, Shirley Franklin, and Thelma Sessions. She is survived by her son, Steve Franklin and his girlfriend Lisha Stone, Plano, TX, grandchildren, Kelli and her husband Jace Lacy, Fate, TX, Michael Franklin, Dallas, TX., great-granddaughter, Lillian Lacy, Fate, TX, brothers, Joe Sessions, Conroe, TX, Billy and Judy Sessions, Alto, TX, sister, Tennie Sessions, San Marcos, TX, numerous nieces and nephews. To reach Atoy Cemetery, in Rusk, travel South on HWY 69, and turn East on FM 343 for 7 miles. The cemetery is on the left side of the road.
