Jewel Lanier Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Funeral services for Jewel Bonnie Lanier, age 90, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 in First Baptist Church in Rusk with Rev. Lee Welch and Rev. Donnie Barron officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mrs. Lanier died January 27, 2012 at her residence. She was born December 1, 1921 in Rusk to the late John Lee and Leah Whittington Sowell. Mrs. Lanier was born and raised in Rusk and lived there until moving to Dallas in 1944. She was a member of Ross Avenue Baptist Church in Dallas. Preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Lille Rose Anderson. Survivors include two sons, James Anderson of Rusk, Don Moore of Dallas, four grandchildren, Tony Leon Anderson and wife Susannah of Cedar Park, TX, Kilven Carrier and wife Karen of Atlanta, Georgia, Destiny Ann and husband Romone and their daughter Euphoria of Dallas, Lisa Marie Moore of Dallas, great grandchildren, Jenna Lillie Rose Anderson and Colton James Anderson of Cedar Park, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will include JoEdd Anderson, Bill Cromer, Glen Cotton, James Campbell, Gary Corley and Don Woodard. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the funeral home.
