Graveside services for Jesse Wayne “Pedro” Duke, age 70, of Reklaw are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 in Walker Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Mike Williams and Rev. Jerry Walles under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk. Mr. Duke died May 1, 2011 in a Jacksonville Hospital. He was born July 19, 1940 to the late Thomas Jefferson and Vanna Marie Lewis Reaves Duke. Mr. Duke was a resident of Reklaw most of his life. He was a truck driver and an oil field worker. Mr. Duke was a member of New Faith Church in Sacul, TX and a member of The Gospel Ministry. Mr. Duke served in the United States Army during the Korean War, loved the Lord and loved to preach. Preceded in death by a son, Travis Cole Duke, daughters, Jessica Diane Duke, Marsha Lee Duke, step-father, Fred Reaves. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Vickie Duke of Reklaw, son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Nikki Duke of Rusk, daughter, Deborah Patterson of Lewisville, TX, nine grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Johnathan, Michael, Cole, Emily, Heather, Melanie and Staci, six great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
