The Lord called home Genoma Spivey on Sunday, March 22, 2020. She was born August 9, 1938 in Yarrelton, Texas to the late Leroy and Isla Ward. She was very social and enjoyed being around other people. She never met a stranger. She loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a special education teacher in Clear Lake, Texas for many years. She was an avid baseball and track supporter, and cheered on both of her boys from the stands; she never missed a game or race. She took pride in her home and was known for being quite tidy. She was a life-long Baptist and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a strong believer and shared her faith with others. She was a lovely blend of being strong willed, feisty, loving, and generous. Her smile lit up a room and will be missed by all. She is survived by her sons, Don Spivey of Austin, David Spivey, of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins. The family had a private burial service. A Remembrance Celebration will be scheduled at a later time.
