Veronica Lazo

Veronica Lazo, was a loving mother, grandmother and mom to many. She peacefully passed on to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior on the 11th of January, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 52 and a half years, Leonard Lazo, daughter Leticia (Tish) Lazo, grandchildren Jasmine Loreal Lazo, Micheal Jeremiah Lazo, son Jason Lazo and wife Laura Lazo, son Michael Brian and wife Monique and their children. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February the 4th at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk, TX at 2 p.m. Services are under the direction of Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home. Mom went to the waiting room January 11th, 2025 A.M. to wait for her Lord and Savior to come back for His 2nd coming. Mom was born and raised in 5th Ward Houston / High School years by Mel Rose Park in Northside Sam Houston High School. This girl right here feared God not man! Was very quiet! No fear! You know the ones that put you in your place with firm love and correction. Never yell just look and give a certain look. The ones that are cool to hang with cuz they just cool like that. Yup, that’s my mom. Funny, sweet, loving, full of fun, jokes, God’s peace, joy, and happiness. Her home was always open for everyone to sit in a God peaceful home with no drama. She fight for what’s right, stand for those that need someone to stand with, teach them right spiritually and physically with lots of love. Mom never yelled, disrespected, or got mad at anyone. She was always full of God's love and gentle hearted to us all. Loved street ministry, loved worshipping God, preach and teach the Gospel, loved everyone. Loved their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a mom to everyone. She was their safe place they felt God’s love and peace all around her. She let you know what’s up. She was raw, genuine, with a huge heart for the Lord. She back you up real fast in prayer in deep, deeeep, deeeeeep intercession. It was amazingly beautiful to see how God used here. Always serving the Lord and serving others. Worked in many churches, worked with children, youth, young adults, widows, widowers, marriages, families, streets, and shelters feeding the homeless. She led Bible studies and visited hospitals to pray for families. She helped start women's groups at many churches. She was also involved in prayer ministries including healing and deliverance. She also participated in many baptisms. Yup, that’s my mom and much, much more. Everybody always wanted Ronnie on their team. Most of all we will never forget when the power of God moved in 1996 "God Chasers". We are so glad we were able to experience it with you. We love you, mom. We are going to miss you girl. Your laugh, jokes, beautiful prayers, hugs, going fishing, shopping, road trips, spending time together with my children and other families, and much more. Thank you for showing us how to be real and showing all of us marriage can last 52 and a half years by putting God first in your life and in the center of your marriage. How God can turn anyone any person around for better that faith is real, miracles are real, prayer works, Holy Ghost speaking in tongues, baptized in Jesus' name, firecracker.
