With deep sorrow and unwavering faith in God’s eternal promises and with hearts full of love and gratitude for the time we were given, we celebrate the life of Casey Jo Newman, who was called home to be with the Lord on March 29th, 2026. Though her time with us was brief, the light she shared reflected God’s love in a way that forever changed the hearts of all who knew her. Born on September 30,1986 in Jacksonville, Texas, Casey was a precious gift entrusted to her family by God. Living with special needs never defined her limitations-instead, it revealed her extraordinary strength, courage and determination to live life fully each day. She faced every challenge with remarkable bravery and resilience that inspired everyone who knew her. Casey was known best for her infectious smile- a smile that could brighten any room and lift even the heaviest hearts. She had a unique way of connecting with people, offering joy without words, and love without conditions. Her laughter, gentle spirit and genuine happiness reminded others to slow down and appreciate life’s simplest blessings. Through every milestone she reached, Casey showed the world what perseverance truly looks like. Her journey taught those around her the meaning of patience, compassion, and unconditional love. She was a teacher in the purest sense, showing family, friends, caregivers, and her community that strength is measured not by ability, but by faith, joy and the spirit within. She found joy in music, swimming, being outdoors, and riding the golf cart and side-by-side and her happiest moments were spent surrounded by those who loved her most. Casey is lovingly survived by parents, Rodney and Cathy Newman, nurse and second mom, Diane Brummett, brothers; James Newman and wife Tara, Jacob Newman and wife Heidi, and sister Amanda Scott and husband Hayden. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Grayson, Julianne, Rhett, Colt, Ty, Tenley, Tripp Newman and Jettie Cate and Lindy Scott and a large circle of extended family, caregivers, teachers, and friends whose lives were forever changed by knowing her. While we mourn her earthly absence, we rejoice in the promise found in faith that she now rests peacefully in the arms of Jesus, free from pain and surrounded by everlasting love. Her life reminds us of the words in scripture: that the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these, and that God’s love shines most brightly through innocence and joy. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on April 2nd at 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, immediately following visitation. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Maydelle, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ricky Hassell, Mark Welch, Nathan Cummins and Steven Dyess.
