Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home
Established in 1910 as Wallace Funeral Home by our Great Grandfather, W.H. (Will) Wallace, we have a long history in the Funeral Service Industry, and our family tradition continues. After Will's death, our Grandfather, J.E. (Bud) Wallace, continued operations of the business with his wife, Ottie Musick Wallace, and his brother, W.E. (Preacher Earl) Wallace.
In the mid-1940's they were joined by our father, R.G. (Gladstone) Thompson, subsequent to his marriage to Bud and Ottie's daughter, Jane Elizabeth. Gladstone and Jane had three children--Jimmy, Jan and Jerry. Together, our parents operated the funeral home until our mother's untimely death in 1967. At that time, our father continued operations on his own.
In 1975, Jimmy Thompson, obtained his funeral director's and embalmer's license and joined his father in operations of the firm. In 1976, the business was incorporated as Wallace-Thompson Co., Inc. In 1979, Gladstone and Jane's youngest son, Jerry Thompson, received his funeral director's and embalmer's license and joined his father and brother. Gladstone Thompson died in 1999, and his sons are continuing the family's tradition.
In 1987, Keith Clements joined our firm as a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Our staff has over 72 years of combined experience in the funeral service industry. Today, we pride ourselves in continuing our family's heritage and traditions.
J.E. Wallace, R.G. Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, Jerry Thompson, and Keith Clements, are all graduates of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service.
